Subject: Server 63 Migration Notice Options

Dear Customer,

Due to ongoing problems with our relationship with the Superb Datacenter,
We have made a choice to relocate all our
accounts from there to a new DataCenter.

Why have we decided this? Well for many reasons. Whilst this is not
something that we have discussed in length on the
forums, we have noted a severe degradation in the performance of the
Datacenter support people. In addition we have noted
a major slide in the network uptime. Furthermore, many of you will remember
the issues we faced with all the power
distribution problems. There were several hours of downtime due to issues
that simply should never have happened.

Furthermore, the Dell Servers we are running have a limit of 2GB of RAM.
This is something we have been struggling with
for some time. Another issue is the Operating System on the older servers.
Most of them are at End of Life and are due for
a major in box upgrade. This could lead to several hours of downtime.

This issue has just gotten steadily worse and we can no longer allow
our TotalChoice Hosting family to suffer through the issues.

Now on to the biggest announcement ever made about our servers.

We will be transferring all accounts from 18 servers to new fully data
redundant servers. No longer will we have
downtime due to a failed drive. These servers will be running RAID 1 which
is a mirroring array of drives. If one fails,
we simply pull the failed drive, replace it and rebuild the array. This is
major news for a budget hosting provider.

What is RAID 1:

Also these new servers will be running 160GB SATA high performance Disk
Drives. We shall see a 40% improvement in
read/write speed on these new servers. Also, these servers will handle a
total of 18GB of RAM, a far improvement over the
2GB Dell’s.

For the clients that have lived through some shaky times on these servers,
your time has come.

We have spared no expense in building up these new boxes. They are TOP
NOTCH servers.

Supermicro SC733i-645 Chassis
Supermicro X6DVL-EG Dual Xeon Serverboard
64BIT 2x Intel 2.8Ghz / 800FSB / 2MB cache / EM64T / HT enabled CPU’s
2x 160GIG SATA HD
3ware Escalade 8006-2LP RAID controller
1x 160GIG SATA HD

January 6th 2006 we will begin migration of all accounts on server 63, 77,
72, and 80.

Your account resides on one of these servers so we wanted to inform you
with as much lead time possible.

If your account is on a dedicated IP we will be assigning it a dedicated IP
on the new server.

If your account has an SSL certificate we will ensure that it also gets
propagated to the new server.

Please also note that if you are accessing the server VIA IP or use
the server name to update your sites in any fashion
the IP and servernames will also be changing:
Virtual/Shared server names
serverxx.totalchoicehosting.com will become
server3xx.tchmachines.com

If you are on a reseller server and use servername
the server name will change from
serverxx.snhdns.com to be
server3xx.snhdns.com

We are sure that once the move has been completed and you settle in on this
new server you will be very pleased with the
performance and transfer to these new servers.

Thank you for your assistance and support.
