Im n a CWBB :-)

Today R & I officially became a CWBB. What the hell is that I hear you ask? Well it’s a Couple With BroadBand. I’ve noticed this as an emerging and ever increasing trend amongst my Irish friends. CWBB’s generally have

  • A high degree of shared computer literacy
  • Demanding jobs where one or both often work from home
  • A love of textual communication be it SMS, IM or email
  • laptop computers which are dragged throughout the house so they can surf whenever and wherever
  • A strong and growing appreciation of the joys of constant digital connectedness
  • A quirky yet often healthy tendency to communicate complex thoughts and emotions with eachother using web based communication such as blogs/IM/email… (even when they’re in the same house/room)

Other CPWB’s that I know include Bernie/Belene of running with bulls fame and my good friends Kristian/Cath.

product idea for media dissemination to meet legislative requirements of SOX 409

Hi Tom,
Funny thing is that I’m looking at you as I type this. Bloody weird. Anyway my
product idea is quite simple.

Under the SOX 409 act, US organisations are required to provide real-time
reporting of all events that could effect their share price or impact upon
financial performance. The term real-time is defined as within a reasonable
time after the event occurs.. management should make provision immediately to
make all shareholders and stakeholders aware of the complete information at
hand in an intelligible and coherent manner. The problem is that no method
exists at the moment which unifies events as they’re raised in a financial
reporting system with a PR reporting / crisis management reporting sysytem.

I think that a possible mechanism to achieve this utilises web services. Here,
the precise parameters of your reporting system could be defined as electronic
inputs such as a newsfeed adhereing to the du-jour standards such as RSS etc. A
businesses financial reporting system may therefore negotiate automatically
with your business to have a press release created and disseminated to a
desired and appropriate list of parties as required by SOX 409…

The negotiation is carried out using a secure webservices and the result is an
electronic document which is distributed and signed by both parties stating:

– the information to be disseminated
– the list of parties to notify (e.g. SEC, electronic news, media etc., other PR
agencies) (either physical or electronic including contact/forwarding
information)
– the schedule for dissemination
– the format for dissemination (live Real-Audion streaming, Quicktime etc. )

As stated previously there exists no standard mechanism for doing this at the
moment and as such, this would be a new an innovative process which is most
likely patentable. I.e. !!Potentially Highly Lucrative!!. I’d like to help you
develop this standard when I better understand your business process. I would
quite like a share of the revenues generated directly or indirectly from this
process for doing so. If you were agreeable.

Sincerest regards,

…shane
