So much of what passes for reportage these days is merely opinion dressed-up as fact. However today  while rifling through the Sunday TImes I happened upon an article from <em>journalist<\/em> Rod Liddle. Rod&#8217;s principal claim to fame is cheating on a woman he&#8217;d married months before. As a sideline he&#8217;s assistant editor of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spectator.co.uk\/index.php\">Spectator<\/a>. I can hardly contain my awe and respect! Today, however, he&#8217;s condemning Roy Keane as a <em>&#8220;thug&#8221;<\/em> who&#8217;s favoured riposte is <em>&#8220;stick it up your b&#038;**()ks&#8221;<\/em>. <em>&#8220;&#8230;If this was an honest, decent world&#8230; he&#8217;d still banged up&#8221;<\/em>. At least he&#8217;s not <em>&#8220;as thick as a plate of mince&#8221;<\/em> as he indirectly alledges Rio Ferdinand is. Is it just me or does this kind of journalistic sermonising leave a foul taste in your mouth? Mr. Liddle is a verbal thug who habitually insults personalities from the relative safety of his newspaper columns to gain notoriety, popularity, feed his ego and increase his bank balance.
