Waterford Based company launches 2 new IT services for local businesses

\nGaisan (pronounced Guy-San) Technologies, a Wateford-based IT company has
\nannounced the launch of two new IT services for local businesses. These
\nservices compliment Gaisan’s existing capabilities in web design and website
\nhosting. The first service is an Internet Telephony service launched in
\nconjunction with VoIP Ireland (http:\/\/www.voipirl.ie).
\nVoIP enables businesses to use their broadband internet connections to make
\ntelephone calls and delivers substantial cost savings over standard fixed
\nline costs. “Calls to other Gaisan Network subscribers are free while local,
\nnational and international calls are around half the cost of Eircom’s.” said
\nGaisan’s Managing Director Shane Dempsey. The VoIP service is available to
\nboth business and residential customers. Where possible Gaisan will provide
\ncustomers with a wireless broadband connection delivering both internet and
\nphone services to customers at low prices. Customers won’t need their
\nexisting telephone connections so Gaisan will arrange to have them
\nuninstalled. “It’s a compelling service at a compelling price” Mr. Dempsey
\nadded. <\/p>\n
Gaisan is also launching a data backup solution providing local businesses
\nwith the ability to store a secure encrypted copy of their data in a remote
\ndata centre facility. A recent DELL\/EMC survey stated that 70% of SME’s have
\npoor data backup procedures. As high as 40% of businesses that lose
\nsignifigant data close within 1 year. Gaisan is offering customers a
\ncost-effective alternative to this. “We’ll perform a ‘data inventory’ to
\ndetermine what data is critical to the survival of your business” stated
\nGaisan’s director of Internet Solutions Willie Hayes. “We’ll then configure
\nbackup software to regularly upload secure copies of your data to our
\nservers located across several secure managed hosting facility in the US.”.
\nMr. Dempsey reassured potential customers by adding that “many businesses
\nare concerned about confidentiality and we understand that. Your data is
\nencrypted using your private passwords and keys. Neither Gaisan nor any of
\nit’s associates can read your data from our servers” The service is
\ntargetted at professional practices such as solicitors, doctors, accountants
\nand architects. Typically these will spend around 1000 euro for the data
\ninventory and around 150 euro a month in data storage costs. A modest cost
\nto prevent data loss.
